Celebrating International Women's Day
International Women's Day (IWD) on the 8th of March is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women. The day raises awareness about gender equality and advocates for positive change and marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. IWD is inclusive, not exclusive so we encourage everyone to attend regardless of gender.
Since the first International Women's Day in March 1911, there has been a major shift in both women's and society's attitudes towards women's equality and freedom. More women on boards means more equality in legislative rights. IWD is undoubtedly an exciting time that is gaining popularity year after year. So, make a difference; think globally, act locally.
Event Details
Join us at Fire Up on Wednesday, 6th of March between 12:00 - 3:00 pm to celebrate International Women's Day. Hear from female founders from our Fire Up community as they share their expertise and discuss their business journey.
On the day there will be:
- Guest Speakers - Folashade Alonge owner of DeButterfly CIC. Folahsde is a life coach, Counsellor and CBT Therapist. Claire Bayman Director of BAS Recruitment. Claire is a specialist in finance recruitment. Holly Donohue from Product Rebel. Holly is a fractional Chief Product Officer and coach for start-ups and scale-up
- Hand therapies - Provided by Jay Mistri owner of Wellness By Jay
- Clothes swap - Bring an item of clothing to swap for something 'new to you'. Any items remaining at the end of the event will be passed to a local Women's support organisation - via one of our customers, Theatre In Flow.
