Welcome to our new, monthly newsletter, where we will be providing an update on all the latest community news and events in Fire Up and Rochdale.

It has been a busy month for the Fire Up Team, preparing for and delivering the launch event and open day this month. Thank you to everyone who attended, both events were a huge success, and it was great to have so many of you speaking positively about Fire Up.

Events

We’ve got lots of fantastic events and workshops being added to our events schedule here at Fire Up. For further information, check out our dedicated events page which is now live at Fire Up events

FSB Evening Networking Wednesday 17th May 5:30pm-7pm

Fire Up has linked up with the Federation of Small Business and Digital Next, to create a new evening networking event at Fire Up. This is the first of a quarterly event, it would be great to see you at this free event.

Wellness in the Workplace – Laughter Yoga Monday 22nd May

Wellness By Jay is coming into Fire Up and putting on a wellness clinic and a couple Laughter Yoga, taster sessions. This free drop-in session is available to all Fire Up users, the taster sessions are 9:30am to 9:45am and 12:30pm – 12:45pm. With May being mental health awareness month, what a better way to start your week than with a good old giggle and a smile on your face.

Understanding Your Customer -NatWest X FireUp Thursday 8th June 8am – 10am

Understanding who your customer is, is vital to ensuring your business operates as efficiently and profitably as possible. But with customer behaviour being so fluid – especially just now - remaining valuable to customers’ needs to be a regular focus.

Join us as we explore the different ways you can focus on the problem you solve for your customer, ensuring that what you’re investing precious time and resource into is going to keep them coming back.

Eurovision Sweepstake Success

Springhill Hospice – Eurovision Sweepstake

Thank you to everybody who entered the Eurovision Sweepstake; supporting Springhill Hospice, we were delighted to raise £80 for this local cause and contribute towards making every moment count. All the countries were picked and with Sweden walking away with first place on the night, it was the Growth Company’s Janine Smith who won the sweepstake. Janine kindly contributed her winnings to the charity.

Business Support

Fire Up are pleased to introduce the newest member of the team, Hywel Evans. Hywel joins us as the Business Advisor for Fire Up and Rochdale and is here to offer guidance and business support on whatever area of your business you are currently focused on. Hywel will be in Fire Up each week where he will be able to provide you with information on any upcoming programmes and cohorts that you can access via The Growth Company.
